Learner Response & Blog Feedback

WWW: You have made a very positive start in GCSE Media – well done! Your fruit bowl is superb – you’ve really captured the Autumn palette beautifully.  I like the answers to your first 10 questions and personally am delighted to see you’re a cricket fan – we will need to have plenty of discussions about this as the year progresses! I also really like your analytical writing for mise-en-scene in the Stranger Things work – I can see you’ve clearly been doing good work in English lessons and that is helping you in Media already. Keep up the good work!

EBI:  One thing to address – you have missed the second half of the denotation and connotation work. You’ve analysed the Water Aid advert but then needed to choose an advert of your own to analyse. Go back and finish this when you get a moment and we can update your tracker to green.

The other area I would suggest working on is keeping an eye on your written English. Things like capital letters, apostrophes and sentence structure are important in written communication and getting them perfect in your blog is a great preparation for the later exams.

LR: Create a new blogpost on your Media blog called ‘Blog feedback and Learner Response’. Copy and paste this WWW/EBI feedback into your blogpost then complete the LR tasks/questions below.

Complete the unfinished blog task.

Then, reflect on your first month of Media. What do you feel is your strongest piece of work so far? What is your weakest? What specific skills or knowledge do you need to develop over the rest of the course?
