5 hours on a school day which i think is about right and 7 hours on a normal holiday

A bit of both because it helps young people study however it also can be a negative impact as it may show violence or harmful things.

 Denotations-  I can see a boy who seems upset or hurt. Behind him there seems to be a hut. The writing says Dig toilets not Graves. The water aid logo suggests that he may be unhealthy. Connotations-  The writing may suggest that this boy and his community may not have toilets to be able to flush or even have the facility of a toilet. The impact of 'not graves' conveys that people are dying because of the lack of water/facilities this boy receives. stranger things

  Costume: The four boys were wearing casual 1980s clothes. This suggests to the audience that it was a causal day for them and nothing unusual was happening. However, it contrasts to the opening scene of the scientists wearing a white lab coat. The scientists white lab coat may convey the beginning of the strange things that will occur.  Lighting: In the opening scene, the light was flickering a lot which could suggests the dangers that was about to happen. We see this flickering of the light again when Mikes dad tries getting the tv to work, and in the end when Will was being chased. Therefore as the audience we might predict that the light will play a significant role through out the series. Also, there were many times where we couldn't see much (e.g. when Will was being chased) the use of darkness creates suspense and it wants the audience to watch more to find out what was happening.  Setting:  The setting of the opening scene was in a government labatory, the idea of starting
