2) What is the key message the Galaxy advert is communicating about its chocolate? The slogan for the advert will help you with this question.

It is rich and silky, the car that later comes and shows that it is better than the van.

This portrays that the galaxy is better than other chocolates. 

3) Who is Audrey Hepburn and why did Galaxy select Audrey Hepburn for this advert? 

She is an old famous actor who died but they bought her back because they wanted to make it nostalgic and 1900s themed. 

4) What is intertextuality?

Connecting between different medias or works. 

5) What Audrey Hepburn films are suggested in this advert and how is this effect created (e.g. mise-en-scene - CLAMPS: costume, lighting, actors, make-up, props, setting)?

Her black dress reminds audiences of her film Breakfast at Tiffany's

The male in the car is the hero

the bus driver is the donor as he gives his hat 


7) How does the advert's narrative (story) follow Todorov's theory of equilibrium?

It starts of nice and calm with the bus going on its route. However a man crashes his food into the bus. Everything becomes resolved when the man takes her in the car. 

8) What representation of celebrity can be found in this advert? Think about how Audrey Hepburn is presented. 

Audrey Hepburn is presented as a princess and inferior to others, this is shown by the way she is dressed. 

9) What representations of gender can you find in this advert?

Women presented as well dressed. Men are driving. 

10) How are stereotypes subverted at the end of the Galaxy advert to reflect modern social and cultural contexts? 

Audrey is shown as in control as she handles the situation well.
